    Hi, I received pell grant that says $5,040- ( I think )

My books came out to like $600-

Then they cut me a check for roughly $1600 Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Question is.... do I get the rest of the money??

Or is it for next semester??

**Do I not get the remainder $3200???

Any help would be appreciated Smiley THANKS
(***For the 2009-2010 FALL SEMESTER *)

I received the $1600 already,so do I get the rest end of the semester or beginning of next?>?

or do I have 2 reapply 2 FAFSA next semester???

Your school might of separated $5040 into three different check portions.

    5040/3 = 1680

You will get the rest of the money, but not anytime soon.
    Remainder of 3,200? 1,600+3,200 = 4,800, not 5,040

Some schools separate the amount for a reason, but the financial aid policies vary from state.. They want to make sure that the student isn't slacking off.

This is what happens at my school in my state. Two or three weeks before the next check, the Financial Aid Office sends a Satisfactory Achievement sheet or something like that in the mail. Students have to get their instructors to sign the paper and turn it in to the Financial Aid Office. Failure to turn in the sheet will result in a reduction or termination of financial aid. The student must return the money and pay for their own tuition and books.

Most of the time, financial aid should cover the fall and spring semesters. It's very rare for them to cover a student for only one semester. You have to reapply every year.

If you're still confused on how financial aid works, you need to contact them by phone or e-mail. They will gladly explain the details.
