Just be yourself. Don't be fake. It can only hurt you in the end.

Get over the fact that not everyone will like you. However, if you are a good person, most people will.

Don't get caught up on hanging out with upperclassmen. It's really not that big of a deal. Dating a senior makes you both look bad, not cool.

Study. If you wanna get into college, don't make your social life or your boyfriend your top priority. Be smart.

That's all I can think of right now, but if you have any questions, you can email me. It won't be that scary. Trust me.

1.) don't be nervous! high school is no different from middle school except more people and harder classes
2.) be yourself! don't be something others want you to be. just be the person you are and don't care what others think.
3.) don't get caught up in all of the drama of high school. you are there to learn. if your friends can't see that and they just wanna bring you down then you don't need them. it's good you find out your true friends now than later.
4.) don't slack off in school
5.)  listen and pay attention in class
6.) do your homework every night!
7.) study study study study! i can not stress that enough. these are the years that matter so you want to do your best
8.) don't get caught up in the partying scene. the people that do will regret it later.
9.) have fun and good luck in high school! it seriously is one of the best times of your life

Don't be scared. You'll easily make friends on the first day (especially with other Freshman). If you're worried about strict teachers, you'll be surprised. So far, I've found high school to be a lot easier than middle school. The teachers know that you're new, and they'll take it easy on you at first. Then you have what's expected, like assignments that just need more responsibility. Just stay cool.

I really hope you don't (or haven't already) tried anything like drugs or weed or mystery drinks that kids bring to school. If you're afraid of being pressured by one of these types of kids, just make sure to stay around areas with a lot of other kids or a teacher or two. These druggies tend to be a little secretive so they don't get caught. Seriously, just say no to them anyway. I've had a few friends give in, and I always think that the DARE programs were a waste of time. But now I know they aren't, because DARE taught me to not try other people's prescriptions and stuff. That stuff will screw up your life.

So the main things to remember that will get you through school: Don't hang out with the bad kids. Actually try to do the majority of your work. You don't need to be the teacher's pet, but get on his/her good side. Sit back and relax; high school is a lot of fun. Don't be afraid to be a little weird haha. And join a lot of clubs that are of your interest. Smiley

    Good luck!

    its very intimidating at first:
when you're all lost looking for your class & all you have in mind is 'where's all that high school drama'.
but once you're past the whole guys-with-beards & the non-realistic ideas of cliques/groupies,
you'll find its the same as middle school . . .

. . . except the pressure of college applications & where you're gonna be headed after these four years.

    tip: don't act like a know-it-all 'RESPONSIBLE' adult. just act the way you want to be;

You do not need to be scared at all, trust me. You just need to make sure that:
-You be yourself. Yea it is cliche but it is one of the single most important things that you can do. The last thing that you want to do is act like someone/ something you're not because it will turn around and bite you in the butt. Karma is a b****. Besides, you will make better, longer lasting friend if they know you for you.
    - Keep up with all your homework. No, my freshman year was not hard, but if i fell behind on the little bit of homework i did have it would make me fail the semester. Especially in science and math.
-Do the work in class when you have to and ask for help when you need it. I do not know about where you live but in New York State we have the Regents, and in order to be able to take the living environment regents you needed to successfully complete 30 hours of labs, if you played around your whole year you automatically failed.
-Do not get involved with drama, drama is pretty hard to ignore in high school but try your best to mind your own business and you will be fine. This also means do not gossip.
-Nothing is secret. The best kept secret is kept to yourself.
-Boys come and go, don't loose your friend over one.
-Try not to get involved with boys, at this age they are almost all stupid.
-Do not try to act like your the best, this is what upper class-men hate.
-Smell good, bring extra clothes, keep tic tacs/ gum around just in case
-Enjoy your year, it will be over before you know it.

Study and excel, that is your job as  a student.
    That means:
Don't become a drug addict, whore, or alcoholic.
Thus no rehab, emotional messes, pregnancies, or diseases.  Not to mention cost of time and money.

Aim for perfect grades and keep focused!  You'll be set!!

high scool isnt as scary as it seems... was terrified when i first went to high school but really its just like primary school except more ppl and you change classrooms for different subjects. just make sure you be yourself and stay true to you friends. dont try and act all tough and kool because it doesnt get you anywhere. dont bully others cause what goes around comes around...dont be peer pressured into anything and focus in lass.. i wish you the best...
